And I use WSCC for remembering and launching Sysinternals and NirSoft utilities, except for the ones WSCC blacklists for being naughty. It takes a *little* extra manual work to maintain after running installers/updaters that don’t allow you to specify custom shortcut locations (or that don’t remember them), but not *that* much, once you get the hang of it. (For example, to find K-Lite Codec Pack’s “Codec Tweak Tool,” I start to type “Tweak,” and up it pops, at the top of the list.) For infrequently used programs whose names (or existence!) I have trouble remembering, I keep my Windows “All Programs” shortcut menus organized by categories. Nowadays, in Windows 7, pinning very frequently used programs to the Taskbar, pinning somewhat less frequently used programs to the Start Menu, and tapping the Windows key and starting to type any part of the name of other programs is generally good enough for me. It was pretty limited and pretty basic, and I don’t even remember whether it continued to work past Windows 98. This made me remember that a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away), I used a program called WinKey.exe to assign Windows-key shortcuts to programs I frequently used. The app is quite limited at this point in time but that is to be expected as it is only available as development builds currently. Jarvis is a promising open source application for Windows devices.
![]() You could try that - you may have the black theme files anyway just not the way to enable it. New Windows 10 Creators Update themes available in Windows Store But By. Note I'm not using high contrast and black works fine. I can change the theme by updating this registry value direct using regedit (close all Office programs first). (Colorful is 0, Dark Grey is 3, Black is 4 and White is 5) While I can't find the theme files I can see (looking with procmon) that when you set the theme to black it updates " HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\UI Theme" to 4 Any input for this is greatly appreciated.I'm on. I simply cannot find the source location. Does anyone know the location of the default themes? My idea is to roll another computer back to a previous version, copy the black theme from it's source location and paste it to my work computer and see if it is accessible. I know that I can disable the updates, but I would like to stay up-to-date with security features as I have work emails synced in my outlook. Office has since auto-updated and I have lost the black theme again. Let us know your favorite wonderful wallpaper in comments below. To succeed in their mission, Commandos will have to use all of their skills, gear, and ammunition to clear or manipulate enemies. ![]() Even today, more than two decades after its original release, Commandos Behind Enemy Lines manages to surprise with its eye-catching visuals and attention to the details.Įnemies are separated into regular soldiers and officers, and all are represented on the screen with a rigid cone of vision that Commandos have to evade to not be spotted. While many of the games available in the late 1990s featured simplified visuals in order to show larger levels, this game is focused on incredibly detailed small levels that are densely packed with details. The campaign of the game consists of twenty very varied missions that feature extensive pre-operation briefing and numerous surprises that can suddenly appear mid-mission.Įach of the missions is set in an incredibly realistic environment, with multiple levels, obstacles, and dynamic elements, and of course, enemy soldiers that impede our heroes. Each of the characters can contribute in their own ways, such as the green beret, spy, sniper, demolition expert, and others. The entire roster of playable characters consists of six Allied Commandos that must use their expertise in small unit tactics to free captured Allied soldiers, eliminate Axis leaderships, bomb various targets, and more. In Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, players are given control over the small team of infiltration specialists who must navigate numerous environmental and equipment challenges to fulfill their goals behind enemy lines in WW2 Europe and Africa. While many other RTS games are providing players with the chance to control armies of units that can be controlled on large battlefields, this game turns this entire popular concept into a new form. I, for one, have become relieved, bordering on enamored, with delays. It’s our absolute priority to get this right. But we also know that when we finally get Saints Row in your hands, it will have been worth the wait. As gamers ourselves, we know what it feels like to have something delayed which you’ve been looking forward to it’s frustrating and you feel disappointed. ![]() Over the past two years, all corners of the entertainment industry have been affected/impacted in one way or another. Rest assured, there will not be any changes to the story or the characters or anything that we’ve lovingly imagined over the last few years and already shared with you. However, due to the size and scope of our new Saints Row, it’s become apparent that to create the best game possible, we need to give our team longer to perfect their craft.Īs mentioned when we announced Saints Row in August, this will be the biggest and best Saints Row game ever and, in order to achieve our goal, we’ve settled upon a generous, yet essential amount of time to realise our ambitions. In all honesty, we underestimated the impact COVID would have on our schedule, although everyone adapted very quickly to the working from home arrangement and continued to be incredibly productive. The team just need more time to do our vision justice we’re doing some fine tuning and there won’t be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish. Our priority is to create the best Saints Row game yet and, if we released on the original date, it wouldn’t be up to the standards we’ve set ourselves, and that you’re expecting and deserve. In a statement released Wednesday, Jim Boone, Chief Creative Officer at Volition said the following: The Saints Row reboot- the announcement trailer for which received 70,000 “dislikes” on YouTube because apparently one diverse, high tech, over-the-top gang blowing up another and stealing from them means you’re bowing to “the twitter mob and sjw’s”-has been delayed from the previously-announced release date of Feb. ![]() The United States Supreme Court declined to hear the case, allowing the appellate court ruling to stand. Anspach won on appeals in 1979, as the 9th Circuit Court determined that the trademark Monopoly was generic and therefore unenforceable. Since that version had in itself no specific pro-Nazi elements, it continued in use after the war, and formed the base for Monopoly games used in the Netherlands up to the present.Įconomics professor Ralph Anspach published Anti-Monopoly in 1973, and was sued for trademark infringement by Parker Brothers in 1974. In the Nazi-occupied Netherlands, the German government and its collaborators were displeased with Dutch people using Monopoly Game sets with American or British locales, and developed a version with Dutch locations. ![]() They were distributed to prisoners by fake charity organizations created by the British Secret Service. Hidden inside these games were maps, compasses, real money, and other objects useful for escaping. ![]() In 1941, the British Secret Intelligence Service had John Waddington Ltd., the licensed manufacturer of the game in the United Kingdom, create a special edition for World War II prisoners of war held by the Nazis. In 1936, Parker Brothers began licensing the game for sale outside the United States. The original version of the game in this format was based on the streets of Atlantic City, New Jersey. patent number US 2026082 A was issued to Charles Darrow on December 31, 1935, for the game board design and was assigned to Parker Brothers Inc. Parker Brothers began marketing the game on November 5, 1935. When the company learned Darrow was not the sole inventor of the game, it bought the rights to Magie's patent for $500. Parker Brothers bought the game's copyrights from Darrow. After that night, Darrow went on to utilize this and distribute the game himself as Monopoly. The game was entirely new to Darrow, and he asked the Todds for a written set of the rules. After the meal, the Todds introduced Darrow to The Landlord's Game, which they then played several times. Īccording to an advertisement placed in The Christian Science Monitor, Charles Todd of Philadelphia recalled the day in 1932 when his childhood friend, Esther Jones, and her husband Charles Darrow came to their house for dinner. Cardboard houses were added and rents increased as they were added to a property. Several variant board games, based on her concept, were developed from 1906 through the 1930s they involved both the process of buying land for its development and the sale of any undeveloped property. Magie created two sets of rules: an anti-monopolist set in which all were rewarded when wealth was created, and a monopolist set in which the goal was to create monopolies and crush opponents. Her game, The Landlord's Game, was self-published, beginning in 1906. It was intended as an educational tool to illustrate the negative aspects of concentrating land in private monopolies. The history of Monopoly can be traced back to 1903, when American antimonopolist Lizzie Magie created a game which she hoped would explain the single-tax theory of Henry George.
Sorry if I wasted everyone's time, but thanks very much for helping me fix the problem. So it turns out I did make the newbie mistake of not checking the drivers. It worked for both of my computers and I have no hiss in either the playback of the device or the Audactiy recording. ![]() I then went to Behringer's site and installed the newest drivers, and as far as I can tell this has solved my problem. I've tested the board with another computer, and got similar results: yucky hissing sound as long as the USB is plugged in. I suppose I should've put some more effort into it. The(admittedly not thorough)research I did showed a lot of people praising Behringer, and this model in particular. The only bad thing about this unit is the manual is all but useless. I found similar threads here so I just assumed it was the right place. The Behringer Xenyx X1204USB USB mixer makes it easy to mix up to 8 channels of. I didn't take enough time to figure out where this belonged because I was a little frustrated and just wanted to get some help ASAP. Very knowledgeable people over that way.My bad. However, this thread should be in geekslutz. I seriously hope I'm just making some dumb newbie mistake. If anybody can help me out with this problem I would really appreciate it. I'm pretty much clueless on how to get rid of this awful hiss. I looked around the internet for a little bit trying to find a solution but I came up empty. I tried switching to a different USB port and I also happened to have an extra cable lying around that I know didn't produce hiss in my old USB microphone, but neither of these things solved my hissing problem. ![]() The only thing that would stop the hissing was unplugging the mixer from the computer entirely, which led me to believe it might be either a port or cable problem. I even turned off the entire mixer and still got hiss. I tried lowering volume and gain on the mic, and even unplugging the mic from the board, but this didn't change the hiss, so I know it's not the mic. I'm fairly certain that my mixer is of a high enough quality that it shouldn't be producing a high frequency hissing sound. My experience with mixing boards is very limited but I do know a little. ![]() So I just recently bought my first audio mixer and XLR microphone(AT2035) for various voice recording/podcasting purposes. ![]() Spacestation fell short of its title aspirations at the Mexico Major, finishing as a quarterfinalist after an 0-2 loss to eventual finalist Team Empire.
